"My estimate is you had a quick wait on google books and wrote some bogus review."

END UPDATE

The Fascia theory of Acupuncture Channels is very interesting and intuitive, and may well come in useful in the field. Sadly, his overuse of scientific terminology he conspicuously doesn't empathise, and that does non hateful what he thinks it means (quantum entanglement being the 1 that caused me physical pain) makes it hard for me to picture giving this book to anyone who is skeptical about acupuncture.

AMAZING! As a licensed acupuncturist, information technology was refreshing and inspiring (and a huge relief) to read a book that and so clearly illustrates the alignment between Eastern and Western medical theories. This is the pinnacle book of our time as we move toward the graceful integration of these powerful practices of medicine. My copy is full of tabs for future reference. My only regret is that I waited so long to read it!

My soul-mate and I [both approaching our iii-score year and x], have been practitioners of Taiji and Qi-gong for some time now, and have well understood that Taijiquan is the practice and Taiji the goal. Part and package of that goal is a coming to terms with that which is called Qi and no better book has been written, from our ain perspective, than The Spark in the Machine, which nosotros now regard as 'Qi 101'. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...

This following promotional review of the book just about sums information technology up as information technology is ...

"Why can salamanders grow new legs, and immature children grow new finger tips, but adult humans can't regenerate? What is the electricity that flows through the human trunk? IS it the same matter that the Chinese call Qi? If so, what does Chinese medicine know, that western medicine ignores? Dan Keown's highly accessible, witty, and original volume shows how western medicine validates the theories of Chinese medicine, and how Chinese medicine explains the mysteries of the body that western medicine largely ignores. He explains the generative strength of embryology, how the hearts of two people in love [or in scientific terms 'quantum entanglement '] truly beat out as one, how a cheating center is also an ill heart (which is why men are twice as likely to die of a sudden center attack with their mistress than with their wife), how neural crest cells determine our lifespan, and why Proust'south madeleines evoked the memories they did. The book shows how the theories of western and Chinese medicine support each other, and how the integrated theory enlarges our understanding of how bodies work on every level. Full of good stories and surprising details, Dan Keown'south book is essential reading for anyone who has ever wanted to know how the torso actually works."

An absolutely fascinating book for anyone who is interested in acupuncture and Eastern medicine. I feel like I vest to a club after reading this because it would be absolute Greek to some people!

I am an Acupuncturist and people are always request me if information technology works or of it'due south real and while I believe in it one hundred pct, sometimes information technology is really hard to explain this stuff to people specially here in New Brunswick Canada where we accept not been exposed to traditional and alternative medicines for as long as other parts of the world. Most people I know rely on what their dr. says very heavily and are more than willing to accept some other pill to avert having to put besides much endeavour into moving more than and eating improve. On top of this, most people I know don't really understand how the torso and all it'southward organs work. I didn't understand the torso for a long time either even though I have a science caste in biology and I will never claim to be an skillful!

This volume attempts to explain Chinese Medicine from a scientific point of view. The writer, who is a medical doctor and an acupuncturist, takes it all the manner dorsum to embryology to explain how Chinese Medicine works and permit me tell you, he does an amazing job of it. Information technology is written in plain English language so it doesn't read like a textbook. Listen you, there are still lots of big words in there! I admit that I did have to reread many paragraphs in the novel in society to really understand what was beingness explained but I really enjoyed the claiming.

In my acupuncture exercise I really try to go at it from a medical/scientific signal of view more and then that a spiritual one mainly because I want to be seen as a medical professional. Where I live, I feel similar people sometimes easily write me off every bit a quack so I take to watch what I say sometimes! This book has given me a keen mode to explicate treatments to people because it gives that missing piece of the puzzle. I am a scientist at heart and this volume has helped me see the connections between what I'm doing during my treatments and the effect that treatment has on the body. I plan to re-read this volume many times until I understand equally of it! I take already ordered another book past this author and plan to take courses he now offers online.
